Sphere Appoints Danielle (McDonald) Tolstyko as VP of Western U.S.
Veteran 401(k) leader joins Sphere to accelerate growth among retirement advisors and plan sponsors

Las Vegas, NV — July 9, 2026 — Sphere, the investment platform redefining what it means to align portfolios with values, today announced the appointment of Danielle (McDonald) Tolstyko as Vice President for the Western United States. In this role, Tolstyko will lead Sphere’s growth across the region, partnering with 401(k) advisors, consultants, and retirement plan sponsors to bring transparent, values-aligned investment solutions to more investors.
Tolstyko brings over a decade of experience in the 401(k) and workplace retirement space, with a career focused on helping advisors and institutions deliver better outcomes for plan participants. She has worked closely with financial advisors, recordkeepers, and plan sponsors to design and implement retirement solutions, with a particular emphasis on education, fiduciary responsibility, and long-term participant engagement. Her background spans business development, relationship management, and strategic growth across some of the industry’s leading retirement platforms.
“Danielle has spent her career at the center of the retirement ecosystem,” said Alex Wright-Gladstein, CEO of Sphere. “She understands both the complexity of the 401(k) landscape and the enormous opportunity to grow plan participation and contribution rates by giving employees options they can be passionate about. As more advisors and plan sponsors seek investment solutions that reflect their clients’ values, Danielle’s leadership will be critical in helping Sphere meet that demand across the Western U.S.”
Sphere has seen growing interest from advisors and retirement platforms seeking to integrate values-based investing into client portfolios and workplace plans. The addition of Tolstyko reflects the company’s continued investment in building a national presence and deepening its relationships across the advisory and retirement channels.
“I’m thrilled to join Sphere at such a pivotal moment,” said Tolstyko. “Advisors and plan sponsors are increasingly looking for ways to offer investment options that align with the values of their clients and participants, without sacrificing rigor or performance. Sphere’s approach—grounded in transparency, data, and investor choice—is exactly what the industry needs, and I’m excited to help expand that impact across the West.”
Tolstyko’s appointment marks the latest step in Sphere’s mission to make climate-friendly investing more accessible for all investors.
